AAP Medicaid study Will access to quality care decline?

Preliminary findings of a recent AAP study suggest that physician participation in many state Medicaid programs is on the decline — a trend which may indicate less future access for the poor to high quality primary health care.

The 1983 study, funded by the Health Care Financing Administration, was done under the aegis of the AAP Committee on Child Health Financing, which is chaired by Past President R. Don Blim, M.D.
