The AAP pursuit of excellence

For over 50 years, the Academy has been an innovative force in advancing children's health and welfare. One might think that a review of that rich history would lend some clue to the direction we will take in the next half century. But, in the words of the late Casey Stengel, predictions are difficult ... especially when the future is involved.

When the Academy moved — lock, stock and computers — into the Elk Grove Village headquarters last year, we acquired more than a neo-classical building. We acquired a new philosophy of organization and leadership. Although you'll find it written nowhere in our Constitution and Bylaws, we've added a new pursuit to our Mission and Goals: the pursuit of excellence.
