Tour gives Academy chance to meet with Los Angeles media

How do you help the nation's largest media keep abreast of current child health initiatives? News releases, news conferences and interview placements play a major part, but sitting down, one-to-one, with editors and reporters is one of the most effective ways to build positive, long-term relationships with key media.

The AAP Division of Communications recently completed the second phase of communicating important pediatric issues to major media through a Los Angeles media tour. In June, the Division conducted a New York tour and met with editors, reporters and producers of such media outlets as the New York Times, ABC-TV's Nightline and Ladies' Home Journal.
