Women's influence expected to expand: Academic environment offers opportunities

Women will continue to play an important role on medical school faculties during the 21st century. Academic women pediatricians, because of their rising numbers, are likely to be at the fore-front of leadership and influence. Understanding the process, personalities and infrastructure should make the ascent up the academic ladder a smoother one.
