The Academy and its members were featured as advocates for child safety in national and local media during September. AAP Vice President Joseph Zanga, M.D. and AAP member Steven Shelov, M.D., addressed editors of parenting and womens' magazines at an AAP-organized luncheon in New York. While in New York Dr. Zanga also participated in a media tour and met with producers at Primetime Live, Good Morning America, The Today Show and Dateline NBC. A Pediatrics study that compared the health of babies born by Caesarean to those born vaginally was the topic of a September 3 USA Today article. The article featured study author and AAP member Brenda Hook, M.D.
