Gem Benoza

A plan to improve access, affordability and quality of child care will be unveiled in the January State of the Union address, President Clinton announced during the day-long White House Conference on Child Care, held Oct. 23.

Conference participants included more than 100 representatives of child care organizations, health care professionals, business leaders, child care providers and parents. AAP Immediate Past President Robert E. Hannemann, M.D., represented the Academy and AAP Board Member Susan Aronson, M.D., was a panelist.
