Improved prescription handouts win DHHS approval AAP: Too many details could overload, confuse patients

Patients and their parents, as well as third-party payers — including the government — will reap the benefits of a newly approved "Action Plan" for better, easier-to-read prescription drug inserts and improved verbal communication about prescriptions.

The new initiative is expected to save as much as $20 billion annually by reducing patient drug misuse and associated hospitalization costs, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
