Pediatricians: Embrace role as 'coordinators of care'

Dear Colleagues:

I recently had the opportunity to speak before a group of Chapter leaders at a District meeting. During that meeting, a dialogue began on the topic of domestic violence. This was in response to a proposed Chapter Forum resolution concerning the management of this problem.

One pediatrician in the audience said, "I don't want to touch this issue. I'm not qualified. I refer these cases to social workers."
