Marathon `house call': Seattle's 9th annual hotline lets parents consult the experts

For the 9th year, the Washington AAP Chapter's pediatric hotline provides what one pediatrician calls "a fascinating study in the psychology of how information is disseminated."

Don Shifrin, M.D., FAAP, a founder and, for many years, organizer of the hotline, called it "a barometer that tells us that parents want more information and have more questions than we can answer in a routine office visit."
