For the 9th year, the Washington AAP Chapter's pediatric hotline provides what one pediatrician calls "a fascinating study in the psychology of how information is disseminated." Don Shifrin, M.D., FAAP, a founder and, for many years, organizer of the hotline, called it "a barometer that tells us that parents want more information and have more questions than we can answer in a routine office visit."
