Getting a shot ranked No. 3 on a list of children's overall fears, and while needleless injections did not reduce anxiety levels, 61 percent of children still preferred that method, in which medication is delivered via a C02- powered cartridge, a Boston study shows. To determine whether a needle-free system could reduce anxiety, researchers measured anxiety levels in 74 U.S. sixth-graders scheduled to receive the Hepatitis B vaccine.
