Children who undergo surgery want to know about their postoperative pain medication, researchers reported. A study conducted at Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital, Cleveland, gave insight into children's analgesic preferences and beliefs, which might affect pain medication administration and utilization, researchers stated. Subjects were 30 children, ages 7 to 17, admitted to the hospital for a minimum of 24 hours for orthopedic, ear, nose, throat, cardiac or general surgery. The children were:
