Certain oral antibiotics introduced during the past decade can be effective in fighting bacterial skin infections in children, a study reported. Since 1990, several new antimicrobial agents have been approved for treatment. Researchers compiled their efficacy rates, indications for use, and side effects in treating skin infections from pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus and S. pyogenes.
