AAP News Vol. 13 No. 5 May 1997, p. 5 © 1997 American Academy of Pediatrics
It begins with an image of President Clinton and other past presidents. "Every day, I try my best to meet the challenges that come with doing the toughest job in the world. If I fail, the consequences could be serious. That job isn't being president, it's being a parent." That's how President Clinton begins a new public service announcement for the Whose Side Are You On? campaign developed by the Ad Council in partnership with the Coalition for America's Children. The Academy helped found the coalition six years ago and currently serves on the executive council. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton appears in the spot as well, as they describe the problems facing children today and how parents can get help by contacting the coalition through a toll-free number or the Internet.
