AAP News Vol. 13 No. 7 July 1997, p. 20 © 1997 American Academy of Pediatrics
Initiated in 1987 to collect data on topics of interest to the Academy, the Periodic Survey of fellows assists various committees and councils, the board of directors and AAP staff who need information on members' attitudes and practices to plan or evaluate AAP programs and develop AAP policy statements. The survey provides a systematic means to gather data on various issues, using sound research methods, consolidating requests for information, containing costs and minimizing the number of surveys requested of the membership.
