Media education campaign awarded $300,000

Division of Public Education

A $300,000 contract supporting the AAP Media Matters campaign has won approval.

Funding to develop, implement and evaluate two model media training programs has been confirmed by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).

Model programs will focus on the relationship between substance abuse prevention and media education.

AAP Districts I and VII have been chosen for the pilot media education campaign conferences, scheduled for late spring 1998. Training invitations will be mailed in mid-November to members of the two districts.
