CME topics include psychosomatic disorders, H. pylori

"Practical Pediatrics CME Course," designed for pediatricians and family physicians, will be taught Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 at The Pointe Hilton Resort on South Mountain in Phoenix.

The course is for those who want to increase their knowledge in the following subspecialty areas: allergy, developmental/behavioral pediatrics, emergency medicine/violence/injury prevention, gastroenterology/nutrition, hematology, infectious diseases and sports medicine.

The course is a combination of lectures, seminars and question-and-answer sessions with faculty members.

Attendees will learn how to identify psychosomatic disorders, recognize the role of Helicobacter pylori in ulcer disease, distinguish the characteristics of skin manifestations in children with blood disorders and cancer, recommend appropriate sports activities for children of various ages, and realize when chronic cough may be asthma.
