A new AAP CME course, dedicated solely to the topic of pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, will be offered March 5 through March 8 at the Snow King Resort, Jackson Hole, Wyo. Up to 18 hours of Category 1 CME credit can be earned. Jointly sponsored by the AAP Sections on Sports Medicine and Fitness, and Orthopedics, the course will address both orthopedic and medical issues related to the care of pediatric and adolescent athletes. The emphasis will be on topics most relevant to primary care clinicians, including evaluation and management of common sports-related conditions, and appropriate use of diagnostic tests, imaging techniques and referrals. Emphasis will be placed on spine and extremity examination techniques during small group, hands-on workshops.
