AAP News Vol. 14 No. 1 January 1998, p. 23 © 1998 American Academy of Pediatrics
The 1998 version of the American Medical Association's Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Manual includes the following coding changes that will affect pediatricians: Newborn care 99436 was created to code for attendance at delivery (when requested by the delivering physician) and initial stabilization of a newborn. Due to the creation of this code, 99360 can no longer be used for standby at deliveries, and the words "standby for high risk delivery" have been deleted.
