Final effort for managed care bill

In a final effort to encourage passage of managed care legislation before Congress adjourned, Joel J. Alpert, M.D., AAP president, joined Senate Democrats at a press conference to show the Academy's support for the Patient's Bill of Rights Act (S.1890).

"Children enrolled in managed care plans should have access to the specific services they need, including pediatric specialists," said Dr. Alpert at the Sept. 16 event. "All of our nation's children deserve quality health care."
