Patients, offspring provide pediatricians with the best CME

Joseph R. Zanga M.D., FAAP1

1 President, American Academy of Pediatrics

Dear Colleagues,

I hope it's obvious by now that one of the themes of my presidency is family. While the resolutions of the Chapter Forum have certainly urged me on, the foundations were set during my medical education, particularly by some of the families with whom I worked. Etched in my mind is one harried mother who informed me that I really couldn't teach her how to raise her children unless I was raising children of my own, So, for that and other reasons, I have two children, and from them I have learned a great deal.
