Pediatrics shows gain on Match Day '98; specialty remains popular among students

Pediatrics continues to fare well on Match Day. On March 18, 194 programs offered a total of 2,196 first-year, pediatric residency positions. Approximately 99 percent or 2,169 were filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

The number of pediatric positions offered increased by 38 in 1998. This total includes pediatrics, psychology, child psychology and primary care.
