"I have never seen an adult with skin cancer who has not had a serious sunburn as a child," said Dr. Perry Robins, president of the Skin Cancer Foundation. This clear observation, combined with the rapidly growing incidence of skin cancer and melanoma in the United States, demonstrates that most Americans spend too little time protecting themselves from the sun's potentially harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
