Gem Benoza

According to the National Program Office, 13 percent of all RWJ Fellows have ties to or interest in pediatrics. Some of the RWJ Health Policy Fellows alumni have used their experience as a direct benefit to the Academy. They include: Jay Berkelhamer, M.D., who served as chair of the AAP Committee on State Government Affairs (COGA); Jerome Paulson, M.D., who served as a member of COGA; Richard Bucciarelli, M.D., chair-elect of the AAP Council on Government Affairs; and Myron Genel, M.D., current chair of the Public Policy Council, which consists of the American Pediatric Society, the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairmen and the Society for Pediatric Research.
