Philadelphia hospital opens nutrition center

The oldest pediatric hospital in the nation recently opened a multidisciplinary center to study and stimulate pediatric nutrition research.

"There is a real need for nutrition education for medical students and practicing physicians," said Jean A. Cortner, M.D., FAAP, director of the new Nutrition Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "There are only a few related courses in medical school and many physicians are not aware of current research."
