Amendments to AAP bylaws to go before members in March

Since the AAP Executive Committee appointed it in March, the Ad Hoc Committee on Constitution and Bylaws has scrutinized the Academy's governing documents to detect inconsistencies and to suggest amendments in response to members' recommendations for change.

Although the Bylaws were amended in 1984 and again in 1985, the last thorough review and revision occurred in 1981.

The proposed changes, which will be presented to the entire voting membership on a referendum in March 1987, have been submitted to several Academy agencies for review and comment, including: the Chapter Chairmen's Forum, the National Nominating Committee, the Council on Sections and the Council on Child and Adolescent Health.
