Montgomery takes office as new AAP president

Detroit pediatrician William C. Montgomery, M.D., was installed as 1986-87 AAP president during the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

"I thank the Academy membership for this opportunity and look forward to working with them on the critical issues confronting pediatrics," Dr. Montgomery said.

Before being elected to the AAP Executive Committee, Dr. Montgomery served the Academy in a variety of positions, including: District V chairman and alternate chairman; Michigan Chapter chairman; chairman of the Advisory Committees to the Board on Membership, Education and Finance; and chairman of the Council on Pediatric Education.
