Somber moment

During the 1986 AAP Annual Meeting, 1985-86 AAP President Martin H. Smith, M.D., lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. Dr. Smith is assisted by his daughter, Margaret. Those attending the ceremony also observed the changing of the guard who watch over the tomb. The ceremony was held during a family program tour that included a visit to the cemetery. In all, 17 activities were arranged as part of the AAP family program.
