Many physicians are purchasing their first office based computer systems or are thinking of doing so. Proper selection of programs and equipment may have such a positive effect on a practice (and ill-considered selection such a negative effect) that a careful and systematic approach should be taken prior to making such a decision. The following approach is one that, if done thoroughly, will help you avoid many mistakes. A time-honored sales technique is to create the realization (or illusion!) in the mind of consumers that the product being sold is essential to their well being.
