AAP headquarters not complete until pledges are fulfilled

In physical terms, the building of the AAP headquarters in Elk Grove Village is finished.

In financial terms, until all pledge commitments are successfully fulfilled, the headquarters remains as incomplete as if its roof had not been secured in place.

The continued support of members to the building campaign is critical, noted Robert J. Haggerty, M.D., 1984-85 AAP president.

"If all members who filled out pledge agreements honor those commitments — and if nonpledging members continue to contribute to this effort when they remit their dues payments — we can satisfy our funding needs," Dr. Haggerty wrote in a recent letter to all members.

He also noted that if these funds are not collected, the remaining monies might have to be allocated from general revenues — an action that would limit future programs and services.
