The Haemophilus influenzae b polysaccharide vaccine (HBPV) is a safe vaccine; however, the question now is whether it is effective, says Ellen Wald, M.D., FAAP. Dr. Wald will discuss Haemophilus influenzae b at the AAP Continuing Medical Education (CME) course "Advances in Pediatrics I," scheduled for Sept. 12-14 in New York. Dr. Wald, associate professor of pediatrics, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, is one of four faculty members for the course, which will cover allergy, dermatology, infectious diseases and neurology.
