Dr. Jennison leaves Academy, looks to future

M. Harry Jennison, M.D., AAP executive director since 1980, announced that he intends to leave the Academy and take a sabbatical leave effective June 30, 1986. Aftermore than seven years of service to the Academy, Dr. Jennison decided it was time to "step down from the treadmill and take time to smell the roses."

"I realized that the frenetic pace I had maintained during the past 25 years of institutional and organizational pediatrics was taking a heavy toll," he told AAP News. "These past seven years number among the best in my life and I shall always regard with fondness and pride the part I was able to play in an exciting period for the Academy."
