Group gives facts on Japanese DTP vaccine

The opportunity to review the large and useful body of data provided during the Interagency Group's visit to Japan was most welcome. The primary orientation of this visit, and hence of this report, has been to obtain and present as much specific information as possible, in order to assess the desirability and feasibility of licensure of acellular pertussis vaccines in the U.S. Consequently, the presentation of data in this report is intentionally analytical; however, our report is not intended to diminish in any way the very substantial and original contributions that have been made by our Japanese colleagues in the development and introduction of acellular pertussis vaccines.
