Children do have to go to the pediatrician, but of course they may wonder why just as they're likely to wonder about the whys of many ways their parents try to protect them. All the same, even very young children can quickly come to sense that their health and well-being are a big issue in the family as one four-year-old recently made clear. It was a cold day, and Alex was trying everything he knew to get his mother's attention as she talked with an old friend over coffee in the living room. After nothing he tried worked, he opened the front door and headed outside without his jacket. In no time flat, he had his mother's full attention and more than he bargained for.
