Scenes from a check-up

Fred Rogers, creator and host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, watches on as Jane M. Breck, M.D., FAAP, conducts a routine physical check-up of a four-year-old. The scene is taken from "Going to the Doctor," a 15-minute videotape which pediatricians can purchase for office viewing. Answering questions that worry some children, the videotape lets children know what to expect during a regular visit to the pediatrician. The videotape has been approved by the Academy. "I know this tape can be helpful to children and those of us who work with them," Dr. Breck says. "I'm gratified and delighted that it can now reach doctors and families when they need it."
