Special JAMA issue details revised guidelines for CPR, ECC

Revised standards and guidelines for Caridopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) are covered in the June 6 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, which is devoted entirely to CPR and ECC.

The Academy reviewed and endorsed three sections of the seven-part report, parts IV, V and VI, which describe basic and advanced life support in pediatric cases.

Fifteen AAP Fellows served on the faculty for the report. Those members were: George J. Peckham, M.D.; Richard L. Day, M.D.; Joseph Greensher, M.D.; Peter R. Holbrook, M.D.; Arno Zaritsky, M.D.; Julius Landwirth, M.D.; Ronald S. Bloom, M.D.; Charles R. Drew, M.D.; Leon Chameides, M.D.; Richard Melker, M.D.; John R. Raye, M.D.; Alan Jay Schwartz, M.D.; James Seidel, M.D.; and William B. Strong, M.D.
