French program reducing number of preterm births

Some of the world's medical experts doubt that preterm births can be substantially reduced, but a program at Haguenau Hospital in France has proved them wrong.

Through an ongoing program of prenatal care, Haguenau Hospital has been cable to noticeably reduce the number of preterm deliveries during a 12-year period, said E. Papiernick, M.D., at the International Congress of Pediatrics, where he presented a plenary session.
