On December 2 and 3, 1984, a cloud of Methyle Iso-Cyanate poured, over Bhopal, India. The poisonous gas leak from a chemical plant killed more than 2,500 persons and injured many thousands. Unfortunately, reports an Indian pediatrician who cared for many of these victims, the suffering continues. N.R. Bhandari, M.D., saw it all first hand. As professor and head of the Department of Pediatrics at the Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Bhopal, it was his institution that cared for many gas leak victims 65,000 people in out-patient care and more than 5,500 cases in the wards.
