Problems associated with adolescence often make their first appearance during the junior high school years, but these troubled children often "fall between the cracks" when it comes to health care, according to Melvin D. Levine, M.D., FAAP. Dr. Levine explained that physicians on both ends of the spectrum, pediatricians as well as adult doctors, often feel uncomfortable treating this age group.
