Harry M. Meyer Jr., M.D., FAAP, was selected as a recipient of the Distinguished Research Award by the Association for Retarded Citizens of the United States. Dr. Meyer, a resident of Waterford, Va., recently received the award for his work in isolating the rubella virus in tissue culture and for developing a rubella vaccine. Elliot F. Ellis, M.D., FAAP, recently was elected president of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Ellis, who lives in Buffalo, N.Y., is a member of the AAP Section on Allergy and Immunology.
