World health improving, but greater efforts needed, keynoter says

"There's often a feeling that nothing changes, nothing improves," William H. Foege, M.D., recently said regarding efforts to improve child health in developing countries. But he noted that some positive steps have been made to improve world health.

Dr. Foege, executive director of the Task Force for Child Survival, will deliver a keynote address titled "Child Health in the Developing World" at the AAP Annual Meeting, which is scheduled for Nov. 1-6 in Washington, D.C. The task force is an independent organization sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Fund and the Rockefeller Foundation.
