Prevention is the highest priority in dealing with the health risks facing adolescents, according to participants in the American Medical Association's (AMA) live teleconference on adolescent health. The program, which aired on the Hospital Satellite Network in January, featured five health experts discussing adolescent health with a focus on substance abuse, sexuality and suicide. All the panelists seemed to agree that simply listening to adolescents' problems and concerns was an important step toward improving adolescent health.
