Adolescent medicine CME set for Arizona

The continuing medical education (CME) course "AM:PREP An Intensive Review of Adolescent Medicine" will be held Sept. 21-24 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

AM:PREP is a review course for the subspecialty examinations in adolescent medicine. There will be a session on coding and reimbursement for the subspecialist as well as the primary care physician practicing adolescent medicine.

Other courses and faculty will include:

  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Youth, with Kathryn L. Wright, D.O., FAAP, assistant professor of clinical pediatrics, and medical director, Horizons Project, Wayne State University, Detroit;
  • Sexual Assault, with Anthony H. Dekker, D.O., FSAM, associate director, Phoenix (Ariz.) Indian Medical Center;
  • Confidentiality and HIPAA, with Abigail English, J.D., director, Center for Adolescent Health & the Law, Chapel Hill, N.C.;
  • Dermatology, with Daniel P. Krowchuk, M.D., FAAP, professor of pediatrics and dermatology, Wake Forest University Health Sciences, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and
  • Coding Principles, with Margaret J. Blythe, M.D., FAAP, professor of pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis.

Participants can earn up to 33.5 hours in category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
