PREP courses focus on intensive review of pediatrics, adolescent medicine

Fast-track your preparations for certification examinations with two AAP continuing medical education (CME) courses in September: "AM PREP: An Intensive Review of Adolescent Medicine," Sept. 2-8, in Savannah, Ga., and "PREP The Course: An Intensive Review of Pediatrics," Sept. 15-19 in Philadelphia.

These CME programs are designed to help pediatricians prepare for the American Board of Pediatrics' Program for Maintenance of Certification in Pediatrics secure examination.

Co-sponsored by the AAP Section on Adolescent Health and the Society for Adolescent Medicine, AM PREP includes illustrated lectures and concurrent sessions to enhance knowledge and experience in promoting better adolescent health care.

  • Tackling Adolescent Obesity in the Office Setting: Evaluation and Management Strategies and Bariatric Surgery for Extreme Adolescent Obesity: What's the Skinny? with Stavra A. Xanthankos, M.D., M.S., FAAP;
  • Contraceptives Update, with Susan M. Coupey, M.D., FAAP; and

Participants can earn a maximum of 37.25 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for PREP The Course and 26 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for AM PREP.
