Simplicity bassinetsThe U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed. For a complete list of recalled products, visit www.cpsc.gov.A recall notice was issued in September 2008 after two deaths occurred as a result of entrapment or suffocation. Since then, two more deaths and two reports of infants being entrapped but freed by caregivers have occurred. Units: About 900,000 Manufacturer: Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa. Hazard: Bassinets have metal bars that are covered by an adjustable fabric flap secured by Velcro fasteners. Infants can slip through the opening between the bar and mattress, become entrapped and strangle. Description: Simplicity 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 Close-Sleeper/Bedside Sleeper convertible bassinets, including those with the Graco logo and Winnie the Pooh motif licensed by Disney Consumer Products, manufactured prior to the 21st week of 2008, "2108," are recalled. Model numbers manufactured before "2108" include: 3000, 3010, 3011, 3012, 3013, 3014, 3015, 3016, 3017, 3020, 3025, 3026, 3027, 3030, 3040, 3045, 3046, 3047, 3050, 3060, 3070, 3111, 3112, 343-8363 and 343-8399. Sold at: Juvenile product stores, mass merchandisers and online retailers nationwide. Remedy: Return for refund or store credit to store where purchased: Wal-Mart, Toys "R" Us, Kmart, Big Lots!, Target, J.C. Penney, AAFES, Amazon.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, Burlington Coat Factory, Buy Buy Baby, Chelsea&Scott LTD (One Step Ahead), CSN Stores, Fingerhut Direct Marketing, Frogs and Lily Pads, Kohl’s Department Stores, ShopKo Stores, Sweet Pea Décor, USA Baby or Value City Department Stores.
