From May 14-16, Seattle will play host to a Practical Pediatrics course with a special focus on dermatology. This continuing medical education (CME) event will feature lectures on dermatology through the respective lenses of the presiding faculty physicians: adolescent health, allergy and immunology, genetics, infectious diseases and rheumatology. Participants will choose three sessions to attend from among the following:

  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Adolescents
  • Antibiotic Strategies: A Case-Based Approach for Treating Common Outpatient Infections
  • Asthma Gadgets
  • Genetic Testing and Screening
  • Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain in Childhood: When It Hurts Too Much
  • Look-alikes and Controversies in Pediatric Dermatology, a special interactive session

Among the weekend’s highlights are lectures on piercing and tattooing, drug allergies, pediatric skeletal infections and newborn screening. And those in the mood for a livelier session can check out Birthmark Bingo: What’s the Lesion? What Do You Do?

Early bird registration for the Seattle CME closes on April 16.

General session lectures feature a similarly diverse range of issues, including Kawasaki disease, teen drug usage, pediatric sun exposure and tanning beds.
