Win big with Practical Pediatrics CME in Las Vegas

Try your luck over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6, during the Practical Pediatrics continuing medical education course at the Wynn Las Vegas, located on The Strip.

The course features general session lectures and question-and-answer sessions for all course registrants as well as concurrent interactive seminars. Also featured are exhibits and informal networking opportunities.

Practical Pediatrics is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals and features prominent faculty presenting on current issues in pediatrics. Attendees can update knowledge of clinical issues and increase their ability to diagnose and manage patients.

Course highlights and faculty include:

  • Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics, with Esther H. Wender, M.D., FAAP, clinical professor of pediatrics at University of Washington School of Medicine;
  • Emergency Medicine, with Steven M. Selbst, M.D., FACEP, FAAP, professor of pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia;
  • Endocrinology, with Gary L. Francis, M.D., Ph.D., FAAP, professor of pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond;
  • Gastroenterology, with Marsha Kay, M.D., FASGE, FAAP, director of pediatric endoscopy in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio;
  • General Pediatrics, with Carol D. Berkowitz, M.D., FACEP, FAAP, executive vice chair and professor of clinical pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Torrance, Calif.; and
  • Practice Management, with Norman "Chip" Harbaugh Jr., M.D., FAAP, CEO and chairman of the board, Kids First Pediatric Alliance, Atlanta.

Concurrent seminars include: Failure to Thrive: A Symptom Not a Disease; Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes; Advanced Practice Survival; GI Potpourri: Cases in GI Bleeding, Nutrient Deficiencies and GI Malformations; Visual Diagnosis in the ED or Pediatric Office; and Challenging Cases of the ADHD Spectrum.

General session lecture highlights include: Update on Craniofacial Anomalies: Counseling, Families and Managing Patients; Vaccine Reimbursement: Quite a Quandary; Supporting the Family After the Death of a Child; Which Child is a Candidate for Growth Hormone? Child Sexual Abuse: Common Anogenital Conditions Mistaken for Abuse; and Psychiatric Emergencies.

The course offers a maximum of 17.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
