H1N1 (swine) flu updates, resourcesAs the number of cases of H1N1 (swine) influenza continues to rise, check the AAP Member Center (www.aap.org/moc) for daily updates, or go directly to this Web page of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with new information every afternoon: www.cdc.gov/swineflu/investigation.htm.Professional resources on the AAP site include a link to interim clinical guidance from the CDC for the treatment of children by age group and treatment of pregnant women. Links to CDCs key facts about swine flu for parents, and travelers health precautions also are provided. Special resources aimed at child care programs and schools include an excerpt from the 2009 AAP guide, Managing Infectious Diseases in Child Care and Schools: A Quick Reference Guide. A link to another CDC document AAP members can download for patients is "Stopping the Spread of Germs at Home, Work & School." The AAP public site, at www.aap.org, will continue to offer an array of resources aimed at parents and families. Watch for new resources as they become available.
