Fellows in the News

Vincent Fontana, M.D., of New York City, received the Alumni Association College of Medicine Master Teacher Award in Pediatrics from the Health Science Center at the State University of New York-Brooklyn, in recognition of his contributions to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Dr. Fontana is known for his book, "The Maltreated Child," now in its fifth edition.

He also will be honored in November by the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse at its silver anniversary gala in Chicago. Dr. Fontana is medical director and pediatrician-in-chief at New York Foundling Hospital, and a member of the AAP Sections on Allergy and Immunology, and Child Abuse and Neglect.
