The Academy and its members were recognized for distinguished careers and featured as advocates for child safety in national and local media during March.

• AAP member Leila Denmark, M.D., was interviewed on "Good Morning America" March 9 about her 70-year career as a pediatrician.

The death of Benjamin Spock, M.D., was the topic of articles that featured quotes from AAP President Joseph Zanga, M.D., AAP Vice President Joel Alpert, M.D., and Loraine Stern, M.D., former AAP Committee on Communications member. These quotes appeared in March 17 articles in USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Washington Times and Asbury Park Press. In addition, Dr. Zanga was interviewed on CNN and BBC Radio March 16.
