HELP WITH AAPNews Online:
Frequently Asked Questions About AAP News Online
  1. Is there a subscription fee for accessing AAP News Online?

Complete access to the articles and many of the features in AAP News Online (e.g., CiteTrack) is limited to subscribers to the newsmagazine.

For additional information, please see the Subscriber Services page.

  2. Will you go back and publish old issues of AAP News?

AAP News is a news source, and we feel there is only passing interest in its archive. Instead, we are emphasizing breaking news on our site's front page, as well as the current issue. The archive is complete back through January 2000.

  3. How are the articles in AAP News selected?

AAP News is managed within the American Academy of Pediatrics' Division of Medical Journals & Professional Periodicals, and edited and written by professional journalists. Each month, management, editors, and physicians gather to review the upcoming story list for each issue. Editorial board members are also queried as needed, and frequently offer story ideas. These story ideas are fleshed out in the monthly story conference, and then assigned to journalists, many of whom have medical credentials. Breaking news is handled via an expedited process. Every article is reviewed by at least one member of the AAP's Executive Committee.

  4. Is AAP News widely read?

AAP News is read by more than 55,000 Members of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as more than 1,000 non-Member subscribers. The online site is projected to receive thousands of users from around the world within weeks of its launch.
